一般而言作者可以不用耗費太大的精力在reference的排版上,頗受國外學校的青睞。國外大學,(實際上也包括國內高校),都會認為dissertation中單純引用了別人的想法卻不加標注原作者的行為是屬于剽竊。如果是重復率大達到一定篇幅數量了,說明dissertation存在抄襲的可能。dissertation將面臨重修,嚴重者甚至會被學校約談。國外大學都有自己的檢測系統,比較認可的有turnitin。哪怕只是一點點的小雷同,這段文字都會被標紅。
