To cope with the challenge of its competitors’, Google has launched a tailoring search service. The specific content includes that Google may be according to a user's IP address to determine the city in which he or is in, it may also be based on a user’s account information stored through Google to determine his or her location (Power et al., 2013). Google can provide more personalized search services through a user’s latest retrieving, Google may also provide more personalized search results via a user’s search records (Luchetta, 2013).#p#分頁標(biāo)題#e#
Strengths of the tailoring search of Google
The tailoring search of Google greatly facilitate network users’ access to the information they want, it also brings some important positive social effect (Power, et al., 2013). For example, by analyzing search records of a large number of users’, such as some specific words: "cough", "fever" etc., Google can accurately predict the trends of flu spreading in the United States in winter (Power, et al., 2013). Compared with official institutions, Google can predict flu outbreak one or two weeks in advance, the predicted correlation with the official data is up to 97% (Neale et al., 2009). However, Google’s tailoring search system provides network users and the public as well as public health agencies with very valuable information, at the same time, it also attracts privacy groups’ strongly denouncing (Luchetta, 2013). There are fears that whether Google can find a way to ensure that the collected large amount of data will not reveal exactly those who submit relevant information related (Power, et al., 2013).
Weaknesses of the tailoring search of Google
The tailoring search of Google allows more personal information to be collected, stored longer, used more thoroughly (Luchetta, 2013). Even some seemingly insignificant information can be linked together to accurately understand network users’ consumption habits, hobbies, and so forth (Neale et al., 2009). In order to better develop its advertising business, Google makes its advertising highly targeted (Power, et al., 2013). Google is through its tailoring search to understand users’ habits of surfing Internet users, using users’ privacy information related to their surfing process in commercial fields. Nevertheless, the majority of Internet users do not want to become the target of customized advertising, because they do not want data of their online activities are tracked and analyzed for other people’s utilization (Power, et al., 2013). Google’s this behavior may violate the majority of Internet users’ privacy and lead to disclosure of personal information.
The tailoring search system of Google carries too much personal information, Google is becoming the biggest security risk of personal privacy on Internet (Neale et al., 2009). Thus much personal information is concentrated in Google's system, making Google the primary target of criminals (Power, et al., 2013).Use hacking techniques or with the help of unethical employees’, criminals can steal such personal information for extortion or usurping other people’s identities. Recently, some cases of disclosure of individual privacy in the United States fully illustrate that even a system takes considerable security measures, it still can not avoid the possibility of being attacked by hackers (Power, et al., 2013).
Discussion

Google’s using the tailoring search system to organize information is different from and hackers’ invasive methods (Neale et al., 2009). It just uses users’ own published information for collection, which is not stealing. Users are careful to protect their privacy, but their disclosed information allows others to get close to their privacy. As long as there is a name or a photo, the person relates to the name or the photo can be found out about his or her information from birth to now, resulting in information disclosure (Power et al., 2013). It can be found through the analysis that it can not be avoided to lead to disclosure of personal information through the tailoring search of Google, because this problem is a result of technological advances to a large extent. People can not avoid surfing Internet, once they surf on the Internet, it may lead to disclosure of personal information (Luchetta, 2013). Development of technology can not be contrary to social ethical, moral and legal principles (Luchetta, 2013), so Google’s ignoring the problem brought by the tailoring search is wrong. Google should still be possible to take measures to protect the privacy of Internet users’. Firstly, it should develop and implement relevant policies related to the protection of privacy. Secondly, users should be informed about where their information is stored, what kind of information is collected, more importantly, users should know that Google does not destroy the information. Finally, though Google provides a variety of tools to protect users' privacy, such as the tool to clear users’ history of searching, most Internet users do not know its introduced protection tools, so Google should step up publicity in this regard, allowing users to know how to use these tools to protect their privacy.
Conclusion
The tailoring search of Google can indeed give network users ultimate search experience, but the development of technology can not be contrary to social, ethical, moral and legal principles. Google should not blindly emphasize the benefits of the tailoring search, it should take appropriate measures to protect personal privacy and avoid disclosure of personal information causing by it.
